I was honored to be asked to write this review for the New York Times. Of course, I was also intimidated and terrified, but I learned a lot in the process and I got to see early copies of some great books. Thanks to my wife, Jan, and my agent, Amy, for their editing and advice.

Thanks to Amy Author (as she’s known around our house), my agent Amy Rennert, and editor Victoria Rock. A very special thanks to book designer Sara Gillingham, whose design and conceptual expertise brought our book up at least three notches.

I’m honored that two of my books have been selected for the Society of Illustrators Original Art Show. The opening bash is October 27th. I look forward to seeing lots of great art and meeting some of my heroes.
I had the honor of illustrating the cover of Publishers Weekly for their fall children’s book issue. Big thanks to Victoria Rock, who got me the gig, editor Diane Roback, and art director Clive Chiu.
Gary Doyle has an interesting blog that’s loosely related to advertising; so loosely that it includes this interview with me. Gary and I worked together at Cramer-Krasselt, making ads about hotels, cars, and guy-problem drugs. He’s the rare copywriter who can actually write, and a great foxhole buddy. Here’s a collage I did of him while we were working on some commercials in Los Angeles.
