This was the original back-matter in my book Bridget’s Beret. Since it tells the story from a different point-of-view, I deliberately used a different style than the rest of the book. The black beret and crows lent themselves to a rich b&w treatment. It’s my first venture into a graphic novel approach and it was a lot of fun to design and draw. As much as I like it, we opted for the “How to Start Your Art” spread, which uses famous paintings to help kids find inspiration for their own art.
